Fees: You are paying for the experience and instruction. Please note that because people have different projects in mind an additional cost for clay used will be collected after studio depending on the amount of clay you used. $ 5 for every 2 lbs of clay or you can purchase 25 lbs for $20-$30 for 25 lbs depending on the clay chosen. Bags of clay last and can be used in future projects. Notes on making: 1) You may glaze OR build on Saturday Studios. Pieces are available for purchase to glaze. If you build you will be unable to glaze that piece the same day. That is not how clay works:) 2) You may choose from simple glazing options that your instructor will apply for you for an additional glaze fee of $15 or you may choose to sign up for another Studio Saturday to glaze your piece. 3) If you have had previous instruction on the wheel and feel comfortable throwing without constant consultation you may throw during Saturday studio hours. 4) Clay dries at different rates due to variables like size of your piece, humidity and temperatures. This means that your piece may be ready for pick up in as little as a month but depending on the conditions it could be longer. We prefer to dry your pieces carefully to prevent them from breaking / cracking. 5) You will be advised about how to make your clay object but understand that there is no guarantee that your handmade clay object will not break or turn out differently than expected. Remember: Class is at Emily V's, 100 E Saint Peter St, Carencro, Louisiana 70520. Wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting dirty. Don't wear precious jewelry with settings or watches as clay can mess them up. Feel free to bring a drink and snacks, creating can make you hungry.
